. . Who pay's for what?
It has long been traditional for the bride's parents to organize and pay for the entire wedding. Nowadays, the parents of the groom may contribute, as might the bride and groom. It is not unusual for the bride and groom to pay for the whole wedding themselves, if their financial position warrants it. Both the work and the financial load are now spread more fairly.
. . The bride's parents pay for:
- Charges for press announcements.
- Wedding clothes for the bride and her attendants.
- Flowers for the church and reception.
- Photographer's and videographer's fees.
- Transportation.
- Reception cost, including food and liquor, orchestra or DJ.
- Wedding stationery.
. . The groom and his family are responsible for:
- All fees connected with the church (except flower decorations).
- Organist's fee.
- Bouquets for the bride and her bridesmaids, corsages for both mothers
and boutonnieres for himself, the best man and the ushers.
- Marriage license.
- Engagement and wedding rings
- Presents for attendants and best man.
- Rehearsal party
