ATTIRE the most appropriate dress for the Ring Bearer is short white pants with a white - or occasionally navy - jacket. A younger version of the Groomsmen/Ushers attire is not appropriate for this age child.
PARTIES the Ring Bearers attendance at pre-wedding functions is optional, but his parents are invited. The Ring Bearers mother should be invited to the Bridesmaids luncheon. The Ring Bearer and his parents are invited to the Rehearsal Party/Dinner.
FLOWERS the Ring Bearer usually wears a smaller version of the Groomsmen boutonniere.
RINGS the Best Man and Maid of Honor should carry the real rings. Have the ring bearer carry fake rings tied to the pillow or carry the pillow without any rings attached.
REHEARSAL the ring bearer must attend the Rehearsal. His parents should attend with him.
PROCESSIONAL the Ring Bearer follows the Bridesmaids in the Processional. The Ring Bearer should process just prior to the Flower Girl when she is actually tossing flower petals. The Ring Bearer can process just prior to the Bride when the Flower Girl is carrying her own flowers and is not tossing flower petals for the Bride to process over.
RECESSIONAL the Ring Bearer follows the Bride and Groom out after the Ceremony.
RECEIVING LINE the Ring Bearer does not stand in the Receiving Line.
